Sales, installation and service of most all wood, gas and pellet heating products is operated out of our humble show room of 650 SQ FT.  Owner Nathan Good is dedicated to the local and surrounding community, providing safe, alternative zone heating primarily from wood, gas, and pellet appliances. He has installed and vented over five hundred appliances, mainly wood and or gas heaters, but also a few pellet stoves over the years as well.  We have many client references, who upon request will give a testimonial of products and or our job performance.  Also, the same from professional contractors.  Shangrilah pulls plumbing permits with the State of Colorado to run gas lines when requested by a client or required for an installation.  Unfortunately, the hot tub business has slowed down to near zero in the last few years.  Juniper Good, age 17 helps his dad with installations and is also learning how to chimney sweep when he can.  His Daughter Zaylah Pearson-Good, age 15 also helps with the office work from time to time.   Starting in 1998 as an apprentice with Ed Rosenberg of Mountain High Wood Stoves, Nathan learned the trade, then became the owner and got certified in all three fuels, through Travis Industries starting in 2002 and again in 2004 with wood and gas only.  Dave Pomeroy, a guru in the hearth and training field was the instructor for the classes.  The grand opening of Shangrilah Spa and Stove Store in down town Crestone 2005 lasted a year before moving to the Dragoon Overlook location here in the Baca just 1 mile out of Crestone.   Not just contract labor… In 2006 Shangrilah's technician George Hill Passed the National Fireplace Institute (NFI) solid fuel exam, to be NFI certified for Shangrilah.  Austin Hennigan technician, is currently studying for the NFI wood burning Tech. Cert.  2010 was an out standing year for us, and we're excited for whats to come in 2011.  Give us a chance to earn your business and the opportunity to provide all your hearths desires! A little history...  At age 13 Nathan's first business was offering the general public a go at the original game of bowling (nine pins) at Scarborough Faire.  He went on to build and expand his gaming concessions for 23 years at renaissance festivals throughout the USA, during which time he had to train and direct up to 20 associates at up to 14 concessions at the larger shows.  Also a builder, he built craft and gaming booths as well as conventional and alternative buildings. The gaming business at more than 6 different festivals were highly successful and innovative in the industry. The experience and funds generated, provided the means for him and his family to move to Crestone and build a house.  Overlapping of the business started in 2000 and he had to choose between the two of them.  The focus being, "where the hearth was" that meant selling the gaming Co. and a new motivation to stay in Crestone full time, leading to the growth of Shangrilah and it's current commitment to quality products and service.  A graduate of Greenbriar School near Austin Tx. owned Good Wood Games and World Renaissance Entertainment, Nathan is a Fire Fighter with Crestone (CVFD) and the Baca Grande Volunteer Fire Departments with over 7 years service. He is also a Nationally certified Emergency Medical Technician B+  w/ 4 years experience on the Baca/Crestone Ambulance Service, and now starting a 3rd year as CVFD Fire Chief. 6 Years with Saguache County Search and Rescue.  Enjoys being a musician playing percussion, bass guitar and other instruments.
